Today I saw a news story of horrific evil that brought me to tears. Immediately, I began to weep at the thought of what this young girl had endured, and it took me to a very sad place. The abuse of children is more than any of us can bear. That is why I am committed to serving in my church and alongside One More Child, an organization built on providing restoration, resources, and compassion to those who have little hope for the future.

If we give in to the darkness shadowing our minds, then all is lost for those who wait in hope to hear of a way to escape. It comes down to believing that our prayers matter. Because we do not see the change or answer we want, because our illness or pain hasn’t subsided, because the relationship is still shaky, we often give up and stop believing in prayer. Don’t do it. Don’t give in.

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”  2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV

Prayer matters. Prayer changes hearts.

When I spend time in prayer, I am different. My patience level changes, my kindness increases, and I respond to challenges differently. This is the work of the Holy Spirit in us.

Don’t miss the power of prayer to change you.

  • Praise joins our hearts to the heart of Jesus. (Read the Psalms aloud.)
  • Intercession for others moves us to empathy and serving. (Write them down and read them to the Lord aloud.)
  • Prayer of surrender to the will of God releases anxiety and strengthens our faith. (Lift your open palms high to heaven as you converse with the Mighty One.)
  • Praying through Scripture brings the Word of God alive in me, and I find strength that continues on. (Write it, speak it, as you pray.)

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! “(Galatians 5:22-23).

She Loves Out Loud Global is gathering women to pray throughout six continents on November 5, 2022. In unity we will praise, proclaim power over evil, share salvation and hope in Jesus’ name. I can’t wait for you to hear Carole Ward tell the story of what happened after she opened her hands to heaven and said, “Lord, send me where no one else wants to go.” She is a living testament to the power of overcoming horrendous evil through prayer. This is too important to miss!

Invite, invite, invite your contacts to join the movement.

PRAY: “Lord, You are the good and mighty Lord.  I admit to sometimes being overwhelmed by the dark shadows of the evil in this world.  Please touch my heart with your grace and strengthen me by the Holy Spirit to keep believing.  I present my loved ones and their needs before You.  Send me where you want me to be serve in my church and in ministries of compassion.  Help me to join You in overcoming the world.

Always Expect Amazing,
