Easter is the celebration of God keeping His word.  The angel looked at the two grief-stricken women and said, “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.”  (Matthew 28:6) He kept His promise that day, and He continues to keep His promises every day.

What promise from God are you claiming this week?  What victory are you asking for?  You can ask.  He will answer. Just as He said.

“You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:14 NIV)

According to a study by Pepperdine University, there are 8,810 promises in the Word of God.  I think it’s more, but either way, that is a bunch!  And certainly more than we could ever need.

For me, personally, I have battled with fear over the health issues that have been my constant companion for more than 20 years.  And in those times when I am believing the absolute worse, I go back to the absolute best – Jesus saved me.  Me.  He called me out personally.  Forgave my sin and came to live in my heart.  Because of His resurrection, I have been given a new life “just as He said.”

When fear first tried to master me, I made up sign language to correspond with Psalm 31:14-15: But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God. My times are in Your hand…”.  For 20 years, each time I run through the motions, peace and comfort surround me.   I know in whom I believe.”

Take some time today to write out a few of the promises you need to believe and so desperately want to believe.  Like…

“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life;  (Personal note – Yeah!!!)

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.   Psa 30:5 NKJV

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  (1 Timothy 1:7)

“…the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Deut 31:6

My husband and daughter crank up praise music every time they are in the car running a short errand.  They love the praise but also the joy of doing this together.  I challenge you today to sing out loud in praise to the Lord of Lords this very day!  Louder and louder.  By yourself.  With family.  With friends.  Jesus joins you in those intimate moments of praise and the enemy runs and hides.

And let’s do this together this week – get up early enough to watch the sun rise for three mornings in a row.  As you watch the Lord paint the dark sky with light, proclaim the Scripture out loud, “Be of good cheer.  I have overcome the world.”  (John 16:33)

“Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.  May I trust in You alone.  In the promises of Your Word.  I praise You for your steadfast love, your power over all the earth and each of my needs.  May I seek to walk in your will and be ready to bring the Good News.”
