Carole Ward lives a life many would not believe is real. She dares to follow God and change nations one life at a time. Hers is the story of one woman’s commitment to her God and to the love for His people.
Her journey and her story began by stepping out in faith when she prayed with a sincere heart, “send me where no one wants to go.” Although she was told repeatedly by US authorities and other organizations she would come back in a body-bag, Carole, through her faith in the power of God has been transforming lives in Northern Uganda and South Sudan for the Kingdom of God for the last fourteen years. She has lived the Book of Acts in ways that have been astounding and miraculous in their dramatic and life changing impact not just on thousands of individual people in these nations, but on their governments as well.
Diane Strack
She Loves Out Loud Founder
Diane Strack has created, facilitated, and spoken at women’s and youth ministries across the nation for more than three decades. As the founder ofShe Loves Out Loud, she urges women to engage their circles of influence to “gather the women to pray” and to share the Good News of God’s love and healing. Diane’s life verse is Ephesians 3:20 and her message is “Always Expect Amazing” regardless of your circumstances. She is the author of several books, including New Start for Single Moms, and the Co-founder of Student Leadership University. Diane currently serves as an Executive Member of the Board of Directors of One More Child Foundation, a ministry that touches 160,000 children annually through adoption, foster care, trafficking restoration, single mom homes, and international ministry. She and her husband Jay live in Central Florida and love spending time with their daughters Missy and Chris, son-in-law Brent, and six grandchildren.
Aixa de López
Author, Speaker and President of Alianza Cristiana para los Huérfanos de Guatemala
Aixa was born in Guatemala City and it has been her home all her life. She’s married to Alex López and is mom to four: Two of which came through the miracle of adoption. After their decision to adopt, Alex and Aixa have become a voice for the vulnerable children of their country.
She holds a degree in graphic design, is a published author (Lágrimas Valientes/Brave Tears- and Para Siempre/Forever -Lifeway Español), writes regularly on her blog Corazón a Papel (Heart to paper) along with other online magazines and is a public speaker. She serves as President to Alianza Cristiana para los Huérfanos de Guatemala and is a member of (American) Christian Alliance for Orphans.
Donna Gaines
Leader and Advocate for Children
Donna Gaines is the wife of Dr. Steve Gaines, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church and he formerly served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2016 to 2018. Donna is a graduate of Union University (B.S.) and Texas Woman’s University, (M.Ed.). Donna is a devoted student of God’s Word and has written and taught Bible Studies for over 36 years. She has taught youth, college and women’s groups. She is the author of four books, There’s Gotta Be More, Seated: Living from Our Position in Christ, Leaving Ordinary, Encounter God through Extraordinary Prayer and her fourth book, Choose Wisely, Live Fully. Steve and Donna have been married for 40 years and have four children, Grant, senior pastor of Belle Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN and married to Melisa, homemaker; Lindsey, homemaker and wife of Ryan Wingo, worship pastor at Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Bogart, GA; Allison, homemaker and wife of Gentry Hill, senior pastor of FBC Camden, AR and Bethany, homemaker and wife of David Golding with Turner Construction Company of Memphis TN. Steve & Donna have fifteen grandchildren!
Usha Reifsnider
Co-Regional Director for Europe for Lausanne Movement
Usha Reifsnider is a British South Asian Christ-follower from a Hindu background. She and her American husband, Matt, have served as mission partners working with migrants, refugees, and diaspora people groups for over three decades. Usha’s research interests are in the intersection of cultural anthropology and practical theology.
Her various roles in ministry include serving as a director with the Centre for Missionaries from the Majority World (CMMW), training churches and para-church agencies on mission to, through, from, and with diaspora people groups. Usha also teaches a module on philosophical frameworks and ethics at the postgraduate level at Waverley Abbey College.
Christi Haag
Leader and Advocate for Children
A passionate leader and advocate for the needs and care of children around the world, Christi Haag is a renowned speaker, thought influencer and spokeswoman for One More Child, a faith-based non-profit where her husband, Jerry, serves as President/CEO. Christi is a leader in Christian orphan care, humanitarian aid and global ministry, and has been featured on TV, radio and podcasts; in videos and magazines; and as a keynote speaker for events and conventions. Christi is also a survivor of breast cancer and a double mastectomy, and her message of God’s power and faithfulness will make you laugh and inspire you to love Jesus more and more. Christi has been happily married to her best friend, Jerry, for 34 awesome years. They have two amazing sons and incredible daughter-in-laws. Ben and Maddie are married and live in Dallas. Brady and Katie are married and live in Denver. They all love traveling and spending time together.
Dr. Sharen Ford
Director for Foster Care and Adoption
Dr. Sharen Ford is the director for Focus on the Family’s foster care and adoption efforts. In this role, she helps raise awareness of the need for adoptive families to provide loving and stable homes for the more than 100,000 waiting children in the U.S. foster care system. She also makes post-placement resources available for adoptive families.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Ford worked for child welfare services at the Colorado State Department of Human Services where she served as the manager for permanency services. She is the former president of the National Association of State Adoption Programs (NASAP).
She lives in Aurora, Colorado, has one daughter, and loves watching her grandson play sports. She also enjoys traveling and wants to see Egypt, Israel, Australia and Fiji. She hopes to go on mission trip to Africa, as well.
Jackie Green
Co-Founder, Museum of the Bible
Jackie Green wears many different hats as she navigates writing, speaking, organizing events for women, being a wife, mother to 6, and currently GiGi to 6. She is the co-founder of Museum of the Bible and has served on the board of several organizations. She is also the founder of Women of Legacy—an effort to help women discover and leave an eternal legacy. She has been married for 37 years to her husband, Steve, whom she actively supports in his role as President of Hobby Lobby and Chairman of the Board at Museum of the Bible. She has co-authored two books: “This Dangerous Book” (with Steve Green) and “Only One Life” with an accompanying “Legacy” Bible study guide (with her daughter, Lauren Green McAfee). Lindy Green Johnson
Lindy’s love for children and heart for healing led her to study social work at the University of Oklahoma. She then completed her Masters in Social Work from Baylor University, where she specialized in Attachment Theory & Practice Interventions. During her masters program, she had the opportunity to live in Uganda and receive hands-on experience working in an orphanage while researching international adoption practices. Lindy is a foster and adoptive sister and aunt, which fuels her passion.
She is a practitioner of Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) and certified in National Adoption Mental Health Competency (NTI).
Lindy currently lives in Dana Point, California with her husband Danny. Outside of working, Lindy enjoys walks to the water, exploring new places with her husband, taking care of her plants, slow mornings with coffee, falling in love with Jesus and quality time with friends and family. Lauren McAfee
Lauren Green McAfee works at the Hobby Lobby corporate office, and is the author of Only One Life (Zondervan, 2018), Not What You Think (Zondervan, 2019) and Legacy Study (B&H, 2019). She is a speaker, connector, and coffee enthusiast and is currently pursuing a PhD in Ethics and Public Policy with Dr. Russell Moore as her supervisor.
Prior to her role with Hobby Lobby, Lauren worked for her father Steve Green as he founded Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC. During her time at the Museum, she served as Curator, Artifact Collection Manager, and Director of Community Engagement. While she was working at Museum of the Bible, Lauren finished two graduate degrees; a Master of Arts in pastoral counseling and a Master of Arts in theological studies.
Lauren and her husband Michael live in Oklahoma City and enjoy reading and traveling together. Together they have one daughter, Zion, through the miracle of adoption. Connect with Lauren

Danielle Smith
Danielle Smith is the Director of Communications for Inspire Experiences and serves as a Digital Media Consultant for Voice of the Martyrs. She stumbled into a life of creatively sharing the truth of God’s Word with others when she began her career at Museum of the Bible. Danielle has a degree in studio art and art history and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology. She is a communicator and lover of the arts.
Danielle and her husband, Caleb, have been married for five years. They are former foster parents and have been significantly shaped by foster care and adoption within their families. The Smiths live in Oklahoma City with their dog, Penny and are proud members of a local church.

Ephie Johnson
Co-leader of Citywide Memphis Choir
Ephie Johnson is the President & CEO of Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. (NCC), a nonprofit, Christian organization that employs over 60 staff members and provides many programs and assistance for over 50,000 neighbors in need annually. She is a Memphis native, a graduate of Treadwell High School and The University of Memphis, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in technical writing. She worked as an educator in the Memphis City School System for a number of years before serving at NCC. Along with a committed staff, she has a heart for the Memphis community, she is committed to the plight of the reducing poverty in this country. Ephie and her mother, Dr. JoeAnn Ballard, were featured in a Segment of the Today Show’s “Season of Giving” series in November of 2020, shedding light on NCC’s heart for Memphis and the families that they serve.
Ephie has a heart for prayer and to share the love of Christ and her love for people through relationship, service, music and public/media forums.

Teresa J. Helm
Survivor Mentor in Anti-Trafficking at One More Child
Teresa J. Helm is a Mentor, Advocate, Speaker, Survivor Leader in the Anti-Trafficking Movement, and a member of the Anti-Trafficking Mobile Team with One More Child. Having overcome childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault and trafficking as a young adult, Teresa now strives to provide a platform for those that may not otherwise have the opportunity to come forward and bring their story to light. Teresa has joined forces with various national and international organizations, law enforcement, other community leaders and legislators.
Ms. Helm is committed to her role in taking action in the abolishment of human trafficking, and aims to help facilitate the healing from human sex trafficking and abuse.
Karen Morán
National Director for Latin America Training and Initiatives
Karen Morán joined One More Child in 2022 and currently serves as the Director for Latin America Training and Initiatives.
Karen is an international relations professional with specializations and a graduate degree in Administration of Projects and Family Sciences. She worked in various areas such as training development, monitoring and evaluation of cultural exchange projects, events in the tourism sector, human rights, children’s rights, prevention of youth violence, education, and family and marriage mediation. She was recently the director of a safe house for victims of sex-trafficking with a faith-based non-profit ministry in Costa Rica.
Karen is a middle child, born in El Salvador but raised in three different countries in Latin America. Karen appreciates time with her family and friends as she currently lives in beautiful Costa Rica.
Norine Brunson
Co-founder of WaveStarters Ministry
Andrew and Norine Brunson were involved in starting churches, training, aid to refugees, and a house of prayer in Turkey for 23 years until being falsely accused of terrorism in October 2016. After this Andrew was held for two years in Turkish prisons. Due to a worldwide prayer movement and significant political pressure from the US government, he was finally sentenced and then dramatically released in October 2018. Andrew and Norine founded Wavestarters, a ministry to start Kingdom waves as we pursue God’s heart. Their focus is on: The Muslim world, The Persecuted church, Preparing the next generation to stand in difficult times and Training Leaders.
They have three grown children.
