We began 2020 with this Psalm 68:11 declaration during our She Loves Out Loud virtual prayer event: The Lord gave the command; a great company of women brought the Good News. 

What a day that was!  More than a million women joined in their churches and online across the globe.   We began our mission with the goal to bring “the Good News,” and 11 months later, this command is ever more important, ever more vital to the planet.  Bad news is everywhere, littered about like a torn bag of garbage along the highway.  It is cheap; it is easy to share; it can get attention and notice. 

But Good News requires a long investment; we must live it more than tell it.  It is costly because as we share it, we may be ridiculed or even lose relationships.  It is not easily believed because darkness and anger are easy to share and quick to attach to leftover hurt and pain.  And it is often not heard because the world groans a cacophony of screeches and sounds, each vying to be heard over the other. 

I always told my girls, “Let your first word be your best word.”  During these days of uncertainty, will you join the women of SLOL in deliberately, carefully only speaking Good News throughout the holidays of November and December, regardless of what you hear?  Regardless of what is said to you?  It is possible!

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,

whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent

or praiseworthy–think about such things.  Philippians 4:8
