OK, before you get upset, let me explain.
I am 110% for saving the lives of the unborn. But I am also 110% for helping those who have had, or are seeking to have, an abortion to find healing through the mercy of God.
Filling the marching throngs that declare the right to do what they want to do with their bodies are young women who have had abortions or have friends who have had abortions. By declaring this “a right”, they are hoping to draw away the pain and shame of the decision. The truth is that most of these women have never heard or understood that every unborn baby is made in the image of God, created by His hand and fashioned by His heart. She Loves Out Loud was born to encourage women to share this glorious truth with others.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:13-16
How can we as individuals have a part in the reversal of Roe v. Wade? Prayer first, of course, but also wholeheartedly through the power of loving your “neighbor.” Ask God daily to use you to intercede and befriend women in your circle of influence— in the neighborhood, the workplace, the school we volunteer in, the community meetings, our church, and every day, everywhere. If you are Pro-Life for a baby, then you must also be pro-life for an unwed mom, by committing to give funds, donate clothing or food, mentor, pray, befriend, and speak loudly about the abundance of grace available to every woman.
Our “neighbor” can be any woman the Lord chooses to put in our path. We may never know when a smile, a hug, a Scripture, or a quick prayer over a life makes a monumental change in the life of a person. My daughter began volunteering at a pregnancy center at the age of 15 by organizing donations and welcoming visitors. By 16, she was praying with women about their choice and by 17, two babies were named after her. Whether you become a volunteer, a mentor, a prayer partner, a foster parent or an adoptive parent, your available heart can affect the future of a baby yet to be born.
That is being Pro-Life. That is loving out loud.
The stories of grace in the Bible were written to share hope to all who read or hear them. It’s not fair for us to keep them to ourselves. Share these words today and every day, as you go, Out Loud! Thank you for being a team prayer partner in our effort to “Gather the women of the world to pray.”
Together, we will bring praise across the globe to the name of Jesus.
