My dear sweet sister-in-Jesus, Donna Gaines, told me that “Gratitude is the gateway out of anxiety.”   She is so, so right.   

I am always asking, “How can I change the world?”  Me.  Little me.  What can I do?  

The answer is found in the living Word of God.  Philippians 4 is my GO TO Scripture for any day that tries to challenge me (in full disclosure, that’s a lot these days ☺ My chemo starts next week.  Prayers are appreciated!) This passage in Philippians is so full of joy I can hardly contain it as I write to you.

What is my assignment as a child of King Jesus?  v. 4 REJOICE!  ALWAYS!  AGAIN – REJOICE!

How do I change the world today?    Let your gentleness be evident to all.

How will I make it through the pain, conflict, turmoil?   The Lord is near.  That means CLOSE, AT HAND, INSIDE YOU, RIGHT BESIDE YOU.

BUT, there is so much to worry about… Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

And FINALLY – whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things

This passage is a roadmap for absolute joy in the journey.  You and I can be victorious over anything at any time.  Satan wants to distract you with darkness and deception.  But we can choose the Light of Christ, the joy of His love and with thanksgiving present our requests to God.  The result is the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What did the state of the world bring forth in you today?   Fear or courage?  Helplessness or Hope?   Claim your promise in the Word of God.  Think about it.  Memorize it.  With all of the things that are out of our control, there is one that is – Thy will be done on earth (in me) as it is in heaven.  Surrender yourself to Him and believe that is enough.
